The Legend of Aiyyelu

DS Aiyyelu, hailing from Vailamur, Tamil Nadu, is a revered master costume designer renowned for his exceptional work in crafting dance costumes for Bharatanatyam. Under the guidance of Shri Ambedkar, he honed his skills and has since become a prominent figure in the field. Established in 1957, D.S. Aiyyelu Dance Costume Designer Private Limited, founded by him, has been at the forefront of costume designing, earning accolades for its dedication and innovation.

Collaborating with celebrated dancers such as Shrimati Vyjayanthimala Bali, Shrimati Padma Subramaniam, and the Dhananjayans, DS Aiyyelu's artistry not only enhances the visual appeal of performances but also captures the essence and emotions of the dance, making him a respected luminary in the world of Indian classical dance costume design.

ABOUT SIVAKUMAR AIYYELU

The Legacy Continues...

Sivakumar Aiyyelu, the son of DS Aiyyelu, has been an integral part of the family business for years. His involvement has significantly shaped the trajectory of D.S.Aiyyelu Dance Costume Designer Pvt Ltd. He officially joined the business in 1996 with the vision of expanding its reach to the global market. Sivakumar Aiyyelu specializes in costume design, employing computer-based techniques to create costumes tailored to each customer's unique requirements. Following the passing of DS Aiyyelu, Sivakumar Aiyyelu has taken the reins and took charge in the role of managing the business. His expertise extends beyond dance costume design, as he is also recognized for his work in the movie "Harkara." Sivakumar Aiyyelu serves as one of the two directors of D.S.Aiyyelu Dance Costume Designer Pvt Ltd.

DS Aiyyelu has won several prestigious awards for our work in dance costume design. One of the notable awards we received is the 2005 Academy Award which was presented to us by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. We also received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for their work as a designer of dance costumes.
